Possible site disruption

Post by techbod »

I have received the following from the company that hosts the servers:

"It is with great excitement that we announce the migration of your UK reseller account to a new state of the art facility in London. This move will place your reseller account onto the cloud where automatic failover, Enterprise grade SAN technology and additional benefits will improve your services. Ultimately, this move will lead to a superior experience for you and your customers.

The migration will take place March 23 - March 27. An IP change is required; however, there should be no downtime as our migration team will forward your traffic from the existing server to the new cloud while IPs are updated. At this time nothing is required of you.

Once the migration is complete we will send out notifications that will include new IP's. At that time you will need to update your name servers. Please keep in mind that we will need all IPs to be updated on your end no later than April 4, 2014. At that time we will begin turning down the current existing infrastructure."

On paper it looks like there should be no disruption. In practice there maybe some issues - nearly every time they have made a change there has been. So if the site starts appearing/disappearing over that period please try again later and hopefully any issues will be resolved.

Thanks
