Re: Very Tempting!
Matt, depending on where in London it is, I could probably pick it up for you.
Would it fit?

Re: Very Tempting!
WOW, yes it look's tempting, but I have just got my MED engine so I will settle for that for a few weeks.
The Westfield XI would be the right place for a set like that.
Exhaust is on the same side as standard, it's the inlet that has changed side.

Re: Very Tempting!
It's taller than a standard head though. Wonder if it would squeeze under?
how many more horses do you think it's worth?

Re: Very Tempting!
Since only one of you can buy it may I suggest some alternatives (shamelessly stolen from the turbominis forum)
1) KAD 16V
2) K100/1100/1200 BMW
3) SC CNC 7-Port
4) AKM/Minisport 7-Port (iron)
5) Pierce 7-Port (alloy)
6) Pierce 5-Port (alloy)
7) Arden 8-Port <---- obv not an alternative in this case
8) Weslake 8-Port
9) Jack Knight 16V
10) Speedwell 7-Port
11) Fiat 16v head (not sure how far Robert has got with this though)
12) CBR 600
13) Alexander 7-Port
14) Speedwell 5-port in different versions (aluminium)
15) Allen/pinion 8-port
16) Aquaplane 5-port (aluminium)
17) Coldwell Twin cam
18) Manx 7 port
19) Special Tuning OHC
20) MED prototype direct replacement 8 port
21) Alexander 5 port X- flow
22) Howely ohc
23) Force Racing down drought 5 port as on the twini
24) Barwell alloy 5 port
25) Elder 7 port
26) Elder 8 port
27) Danish alloy 7 port by Ole Rytter
28) US Weslake alloy copy
29) UK crossflow Iron Weslake reproduction
30) Weslake two teir 8 port non crossflow
31) Piper 8 port
32) Phil Sharp / MBM 8 port
33) fiat 8v
34) BMW 8v
35) "Cut down" Jag 6 cylinder
That last one is getting pretty esoteric it seems.

Re: Very Tempting!
The 7 port manifold with the twin Webers doesn't look as though it will fit. We took measurements, and found that the chassis top frame tube was competing for space with the carburetors.
Also, ignition service becomes very difficult as the carbs have to be removed to get to the distributor.
Of course, crank triggered ignition could be used.
A couple of friends with the W11 wanted to use this cylinder head, but it just would not fit in the RHD chassis, or in the LHD chassis.

Re: Very Tempting!
If Webers on 7 or 8 port heads are a problem then injection might be the solution!
Then this might tempt instead http://london.craigslist.co.uk/pts/2574851608.html

Throttle bodies cause the same problem. Chassis tube is in the way.

Re: Very Tempting!
What about Ford 1300 cross flow with two weber? they fit.
It might only be a manifold problem that could be fixed with a custom one for the A series

Re: Very Tempting!
Still don't get it that twinn webers to the right shouldn't have room enough under the hood/bonnet, just found these pic's in Yahoo w11 group

So my point is that there are room for the webers it's just a matter of getting a manifold that place them in the right hight and at the right angle. A job for Maniflow
And maybe some stiff engine mounts
