PRICE REDUCED ON SPEEDWELL USA TAPER WHEEL BEARINGS

If you are thinking about taper wheel bearings for the front spindles, Speedwell USA has reduced the price of their TIMKEN kit to $199usd, including the shims to set them up properly.

These bearings leave the disc in the standard position, so the hub is not repositioned on the spindle as it is with some other kits.

The end result is an end to the wobblies, and extraordinarily long life. A bonus is that the brakes become consistent in feel and modulation. Big confidence inducer at the track.

Installation and initial adjustment is easy. There is no down side other than the price. However, the USDollar is weak, so have at it!

I'd be tempted. If I had any problems with the stock bearings. But after 8000+ miles, including 8 hours plus racing, they're fine (touch wood). I do plan to change them as a precaution over the winter, but that will be a fresh set of stock bearings for around $45. So, right now, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

I'd measure the new set before you fit it though!

How was your trackday? Bumped into Mark Cooper in town and he said it was very wet!

Not done it yet, in a couple of weeks.
