For some very good video footage of a very competitive car go on " youtube " and enter " Ian Howel Westfield Eleven ". I spoke with him at Shelsley Walsh back in 2012 , a true gent and a meticulously presented car.

The problem with hill climbs and sprints (i.e. against the clock rather than against other people) is that you cant tell if a car is quick or not - especially when now times are displayed.
Search awracing20 on youtube if you want to see a competitive 11 against other cars...

Regards hillclimbs and sprints such as Shelsley Walsh / Curborough / Harewood House etc. it is the " Taking Part " that is a major factor and the social event involving like minded people adds to the occasion . Ian Howel's car runs a Lotus Twin Cam and I think both a Quaife gearbox and L.S.D. . the Car / Drivers times for different venues are posted on various forums and it is quite easy to see from these that both the car and the driver are " Competitive "

As I now have his spare bodywork, will my car be a quick 'un?

His 11 is indeed as nice looker. Shame I only had 5 mins to peruse it when I picked up my rear clam / scuttle.

I'm sure he is 'competitive', I don't know the guy nor have I seen him drive - just stating that with hillclimb/sprint videos its difficult to tell if they are quick without times being posted - i'm not going to go trawling the internet for results.

To me a "competitive" Eleven is any vehicle that actually competes in some sort of speed event. Never mind how well you do against anything else. God knows there are few enough of us! I was totally amazed at one black original Eleven racing at Spa in September that was very close to breaking 3:00 laps. Impressive. Expensive.
Adam - likely to be out in 2014?

I'm sure your car wil be very, very quick!
(How's that on the motivational scale?)

I did ask Ian if he knew about us (he didn't) and I did say we were friendly! And that a few of us competed. However, as he wasn't administering the sale of the bodywork (turned out it was his son via another family member's ebay account) I got the feeling he wasn't particularly interwebby....
Ian if you are here, come on in!!
