I'd take a photo of the eleven from the side, as square on as you can get it, and then try some virtual fibreglass chopping in photoshop/GIMP/etc to see what (if anything) looks best.

I suppose the issue is then even if it does look OK you then have work out how to transfer the cut line accurately back from PS to the car, but at least it might give you an idea...

Hi , Happy new year.

Do you have a reason to cut out the wheel arches? On the Bread van Its not done for clearance, only for quick wheel changes when racing , no need to remove the body. The rear arch cut outs are very off centre and quite odd looking although it kind of works on the Bread van part of its character.

If it helps there are a couple of pictures of Eleven-a-likes with opened up front wheel arches, though not necessarily quite the same shape as the Breadvan.

There are also the pictures of the Lotus Eleven with roof, so similar to the Breadvan, and conventional Eleven front arches. On the whole I think I prefer this to the bread van front arch look. Its such a pretty car.

Response to Techbod's posting and contribution.

I was unaware of the cars and photographs etc. you have posted, they are way beyond what I considered. However they do show
what can be achieved. In my case a closed coupe is going to remain on a wish list, if only because I think access and egress would
be difficult if not impossible for me. On that score I will stick with an open top to be able to step in and slide down to get in and
heave myself up to get out. Still if did come to fruition I could always just sit and contemplate it. The use of the ubiquitous Mk I
Cortina rear lights certainly bring the design into period,I posted a comment some time ago about a car similar to the Lotus Breadvan
a chap called Ken Le Riche had built at least 45 years ago using the same items. I had hoped there might have been a response to
that, however nothing materialised.

Thanks for your contribution it certainly added to an interesting thread.
