New owner, few questions/advice on parts please

Hey

I have been scrowling through the various forums threads and wanted to check a couple of points if I can

Mechanically I’m relatively ok so this is more about aethstetics:

- Steering boss - when replacing the small leather one for a more period correct nardi, Springall - where can you get the polished metal/alloy boss that brings the wheel forward - not the black one?

- number roundels - reading a thread here 21” sounds right - any other views or advice

- number plates - any preferences on the self adhesive ones applied to the front.

Thanks all

Hi,

I bought my tulip boss (to fit a Springal steering wheel) from Jacob Engineering. That wasn't enough to bring the wheel far enough away from the scuttle edge to prevent me hitting my knuckles, so I made up an aluminium spacer to fit between the steering wheel and the boss.

I fitted a self adhesive standard size vinyl front 'plate' from 'I Say Ding Dong'.

Morris.

I went non-standard wood rim Mota-Lita. The Jacob wheels look brilliant, and I understand are as near to perfect as you’ll find.

If you went Mota-Lita, they can supply all the fittings to make quite a nice steer in the W11.

Cheers

In my case, the flat dished wheel was almost touching the lip of the scuttle.

I bought a couple of aluminium second hand 'vintage' steering wheel spacers that I modified and polished to provide a gap for my fingers.
